The Binalong Writing Group meets every second Thursday evening from 12 June in the Hotel Binalong Lounge, 7.30-9.30 pm.  Half the evening will be sharing work around the fireside - bring yours or just listen to other members; the other half will be writing to suggested themes and exercises. Fact & Fiction Group meets at 6pm on the first Wednesday of each month, in the Workshop Room of Gorman House.  In recognising the fuzzy boundary between fact and fiction, we now invite writers of narrative nonfiction, historical faction and biography to join for discussion with writers of general fiction, crime, thrillers and literary novelists.  We do not encourage writers of romance, speculative fiction, children's authors or copyists of historical sagas, for there are already other groups for these writers. The purpose of the Fact & Fiction Group is to provide each other with constructive feedback. Rapid Fire young hip hop writers group at the Writers Centre. Rapid Fire is a new monthly meeting for young people with an interest in rap, on 16th of every month at 6pm in the workshop room of the ACT Writers Centre. The group will be led by local wordsmith MC Feline (winner of the Belconnen Youth Centre rap battle 2007), who will provide inspiration and support in both writing and freestyling elements of rap. Participants will be encouraged to develop their own work as well as contribute to other members’ development. It is envisaged that the rapscallions will then have the opportunity to perform at the monthly Turboslams at the Front café. Rapid Fire is currently free.
