Blog and be damned with John Birmingham
Notorious blogger and columnist John Birmingham gave an exclusive lunchtime talk and Q&A for 15 lucky fans. John is the author of the cult classic He Died with a Felafel in His Hand, the award-winning history Leviathan: the Unauthorised Biography of Sydney, and the Axis of Time trilogy, as well as multiple newspaper and magazine articles and blogs.

Canberra Zine Fair
The ACT Writers Centre and the Canberra Contemporary Arts Space presened the third annual Canberra Zine Fair at Gorman House on Saturday 3 July during the Gorman House markets. Zines, cartoons, badges, bags, t-shirts and other funky stuff were displayed by over 40 stallholders.

A two-day Australian Society of Authors event, in partnership with the ACT Writers’ Centre, featuring:

The Story is the Thing artists’ book exhibition
This exhibition, displayed at Tuggeranong Art Centre, featured unique and beautiful hand-crafted books from across Australia, and even a few entries from overseas. The exhibition was launched by Gia Metherell, literary editor of The Canberra Times on the 27th May. Many of the books were also available for sale.
